Privacy Policy

ByteVoid SAS ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect through our website (bytevoid.io) and how we use it. Each of our apps has its own separate privacy policy, available within the app and on its App Store listing.

What we collect

  • Your email address if you submit it through one of our early-access signup forms (e.g. on our app pages). Stored and sent via Resend (a US-based email service provider) so we can send you launch updates and product news for the app you signed up for. When you sign up, we send a confirmation email. It has no unsubscribe link. Each later email will carry an unsubscribe link. You can also email [email protected] at any time, and we remove your address.
  • Email correspondence if you contact us directly. We receive only what you choose to send.
  • Meta Pixel (a Facebook tracking pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) on the pages that show the cookie banner (the home page, /latelight and /restow), used for advertising attribution and conversion measurement on Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns. This places cookies and shares limited interaction data with Meta. It loads only after you accept it via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you reject or ignore the banner, it does not load. For pixel events, Meta and we are joint controllers. Meta's Business Tools Terms and its Controller Addendum set out the shared duties.
  • Server logs. Railway Corp., our host, keeps server logs for 30 days. They hold your IP address, the time of the request and your browser details. Cloudflare, which carries our web traffic, sees the same details.

How we use it

Early-access emails are used only to send you launch updates and product announcements for the app you signed up for. Email correspondence is used solely to respond to your inquiry. Meta Pixel data is used to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform.

We do not sell or rent your data. The third parties that help us operate the site are listed in the next section.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The Meta Pixel places cookies and shares interaction data with Meta for advertising attribution. The Meta Pixel loads only on pages that show the cookie banner: the home page, /latelight and /restow. It loads only after you accept the banner. To change your preference later, clear your browser data for this site, then refresh.

Server logs from our hosting provider may retain your IP address and user agent for security and operational purposes.

Legal basis

We keep an early-access email address on the basis of your consent. We keep server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the site. The Meta Pixel runs only with your consent.

Who receives your data

We have a written data processing agreement with each processor in this list. Meta is not our processor for pixel events. Meta and we are joint controllers for them.

  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., United States). Stores early-access email addresses and sends our emails. Our mail goes out through Amazon Web Services in Ireland.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Ireland) and Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States). Ad measurement with the Meta Pixel, only with your consent. Joint controller with us for pixel events.
  • Railway Corp. (United States). Hosts our website and its server logs, in the Netherlands.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). Carries our web traffic. It sees visitor IP addresses and adds a security script.
  • Fastmail Pty Ltd (Australia). Hosts our email, including [email protected].

International data transfers

ByteVoid SAS is established in France. Some of our providers are outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. For each of them, we use the safeguard in this list. For the EEA, that is the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For the UK, that is the UK Addendum to those clauses or the UK extension to the Data Privacy Framework.

For the EEA, each transfer follows Chapter V of the GDPR. For the UK, each transfer follows Article 44A of the UK GDPR and meets the UK data protection test. Under that test, the protection after the transfer must not be materially lower than UK protection.

  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA; mail through Amazon Web Services, Ireland). EEA: Standard Contractual Clauses. UK: Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum. It also uses the UK extension to the Data Privacy Framework.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and Meta Platforms, Inc. (Ireland and USA). EEA: the European Data Transfer Addendum. It uses the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and adequacy decisions, with the Standard Contractual Clauses (Module 3) as a reserved fallback. UK: the UK Data Transfer Addendum, for transfers to Meta Platforms, Inc.
  • Railway Corp. (USA; our servers run in the Netherlands). EEA: Standard Contractual Clauses. UK: clause 9.4 of Railway's data processing terms. It uses the Data Privacy Framework if the recipient is certified, or the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). EEA: Standard Contractual Clauses, or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. UK: the UK Addendum.
  • Fastmail Pty Ltd (Australia). EEA: Standard Contractual Clauses. UK: Fastmail names no safeguard yet.

How long we keep data

We keep an early-access email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep your emails to us while we need them to answer you. We delete them if you ask. Railway keeps server logs for 30 days.

Apps

Our individual apps have their own privacy policies, available within each app and on its App Store listing. The privacy practices of our apps are described in those documents and are not covered by this website policy.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email [email protected] to access, correct, port, or delete the data we hold about you (such as your early-access email), or to withdraw consent for tracking.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR). You can complain to us about how we handle your data. Write to [email protected]. We acknowledge each complaint within 30 days. You have the rights above plus the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In France, that is the CNIL. In the United Kingdom, it is the Information Commission (ICO). Other EEA countries have their own national authority.

California (CCPA / CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Meta Pixel may constitute "sharing" under California's broad definition. You can opt out by rejecting the cookie banner, or by emailing us. We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense.

Canada (PIPEDA + provincial laws). You have the rights above. In Quebec, you also have specific rights under Law 25, including the right to be informed about automated processing and to refuse it.

Australia (Privacy Act 1988 + APPs). You have the rights above. You can also lodge a complaint with the OAIC (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner).
