Betroth - Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Betroth iOS app, published by ByteVoid SASU ("we", "our", "us"). By using Betroth, you agree to these terms.

What Betroth is

Betroth is a wedding planner for iPhone: a countdown widget, a timeline checklist, a budget tracker, and vendor notes. It runs on your device, keeps your data there, and does not require an account.

Betroth Pro

Betroth is offered through a single subscription, Betroth Pro, an auto-renewable annual subscription.

  • Price. USD 29.99 per year, or the equivalent in your local currency. The exact price is always shown in the app before you subscribe.
  • Free trial. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you don't cancel, the subscription begins automatically and payment is charged when the trial ends.
  • Renewal. The subscription is billed to your Apple Account and renews automatically each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period already paid for or trialled. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Purchases are made from Apple. Payment, renewal, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. To request a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer, including any withdrawal or refund rights handled through Apple.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before a higher price takes effect.

License

Betroth does not provide a separate end user license agreement. Your license to use the app is Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, part of Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, in addition to these terms.

Disclaimers

Betroth is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose. You are responsible for keeping your own records of anything important, including by using the export feature in Settings; your data lives on your device, and we cannot access or recover it for you.

Your content

Anything you enter into Betroth belongs to you: your wedding details, checklist, budget, and vendor notes. We do not claim ownership of it, and because it stays on your device, we never have access to it.

Our content

The Betroth name, brand, app design, and artwork are the property of ByteVoid SASU. "ByteVoid" and "Betroth" are trademarks of ByteVoid SASU. You may not reproduce, distribute, or build a competing product based on these.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ByteVoid SASU and its representatives are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Betroth, including any loss of data stored on your device. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, in which case those limitations do not apply to the extent prohibited by law. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall be brought before the competent courts of Paris, France, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.

Consumer mediation

If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve a complaint directly, you have the right to refer the dispute free of charge to a consumer mediator (Code de la consommation, Art. L612-1). Before contacting the mediator, please first send your complaint to us at [email protected] so we have a chance to resolve it. If we do not reach an amicable agreement, or if we do not reply within a reasonable period of one (1) month, you may refer the dispute free of charge to the mediator listed by the Commission d'évaluation et de contrôle de la médiation de la consommation (Art. L612-2 and L615-1).

Changes

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top reflects any changes. Continued use of Betroth after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy

Your data is handled per the Betroth Privacy Policy. In short: no accounts, no tracking, and your wedding plans stay on your device.
